How to tell if a website is credible
Ask yourself: Who is the organization, company, university, or person that created it? Check the web address, page header, and page footer for clues. If it's sponsored by a university or a company who you've heard of or trust, use it. If it made by someone you've never heard of, they might not be a credible, accurate source. Look for spelling and grammar errors. If the site isn't well-written, that's a big hint that it's not a credible source.
A note about Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a great website for finding information fast. But sometime it's not credible, because like this site, anybody can edit it. For more accurate information, scroll down to the bottom of the Wikipedia article. There should be a list of "references" or sources that people who edited that Wikipedia article have cited. Go to those sites for more credible information.
